Biography
I was born on March 26, 1985 in Van Nuys, California, the youngest of three children. Since early childhood, I was introduced to the wonderful game of pool by my father, professional player Ernesto Dominguez. As a toddler I picked up the game fast and began playing well by age 6. However, around the same time, I began a passion for basketball. From ages 7-17 I did not play pool at all and dedicated all my energy into playing basketball at a professional level. I played for traveling teams, all stars, and eventually Varsity basketball in high school. Then, approximately by my senior year in high school, my father opened a pool room in Northridge, California. I worked at The Billiard Connection, as the business was called, over the weekends and whenever my schedule allowed. This was when my interest in basketball began to fade and pool became my ambition.
Eventually, we began to run USPPA handicap tournaments at our poolroom and that is where I was first introduced to tournament play. Here is where I became more and more frustrated with my poor performances and begged my dad to teach me to play. After 3 months of training, my game dramatically improved and I began to win many of these handicapped events. Then I went to Junior Nationals in DeKalb Illinois after only 6 months of playing and came in 17th. It was then when I realized I had some potential and continued to work on my game tirelessly.
Today, I have accomplished a great deal in a very short pool career. Recent runner-up at the prestigious Jay Swanson Memorial, 3rd at the Pro Players Championships in Valley Forge, representative at the World Ten Ball Championships in Manila, Philippines, and winner of many regional events. I look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with Tiger Products and hope to continue to improve and perform well at all the events I play in.
I went to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA. Graduated high school with a 3.4 GPA and have maintained above a 3.2GPA throughout college. Attending College of the Canyons in Valencia, CA and planning on transferring to either Pepperdine University or Cal State Northridge with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine/Kinesiology. Would like to either pursue further study with a Masters or getting a double major in Nuclear Medicine, not quite decided. :)
